I would say that Daylilies are my favorite, but truthfully I think I am just in love with flowers period. This very Impressionistic Digital Painting showcases the drama of this vibrantly colored Ruby Daylily. The dark background keeps the image from becoming overly bright, while the colors in the Daylily produce the very convincing illusion of intense sunlight on the petals.

Thank you, Nanci! Your comments are kind and generous. :) Nature is a miracle. Color is emotion... it is light made visible... it is felt in music. I suspect color is felt even by those who cannot see or hear. But feelings can be so hard to articulate and they are often mistaken. Beauty and emotion are in the eye of the beholder and one persons hopeless tragedy is another’s joyful triumph. Thank goodness nature is oblivious to the silly emotions and ramblings of humans and simply creates beautiful flowers with no regard to an audience other than Bees and Butterflies. :)
