Thank you, Sarah! I am very happy you found this one to be so appealing. I did three versions of this composition... Each with a different tone and mood. I think all three work because the underlying composition works. Preference of one over the other I think has to do with how the mood of the image speaks to the individual. This one has great depth and draws in the viewer. The Impressionist version is more about the memory / impression of the image... The Palette Knife version, at least for me, is about an event... capturing and freezing the act of creating an image. It is less about what is in the image and more about the appearance of the image as an object... the image becomes the subject rather than the Iris.
