Pale Petunias 5146 IDP_2
A very impressionist piece of pale colored Petunias. I picked out the subtle reflected hues in the petals which underscores the gentle play of light on and through them. This piece has a fair amount of atmospheric depth, although it is very shallow.
I could not resist the touch of blue sky which is lightly reflected in a few of the petals. The blue reminded me so much of Monet's "Blue" in "Woman with a Parasol"... but of course I had to push the intensity. :)
The composition draws the viewers eye to the bottom, but that intense blue pulls you back to the top.

Thank you for visiting. I started out as a painter. I love Oil Paint, but the process is slow. In 2017 I began to develop a style based on my desire to produce richly colored Impressionist images without paint. I create “Digital Images” with the look of highly layered, glazed Oil Paintings and Watercolors. My approach to creating these images is the same as when I use Oil Paint and a brush. The only digital tool / software I use is Photoshop.
